A script is an incomplete object! It might contain all the lines, but it’s only a fragment of the information an actor needs to give a detailed and whole performance. That’s where script analysis comes in. It's a vital part of an actor’s toolkit, and it's a skill anyone can learn.

In this class we will be working on line delivery, finding your character in the script, how to ace callbacks, ensemble work and more. We will look in scripts to determine what the writer is trying to say, as well as the ways in which one might interpret the words to create an original and dynamic performance. We will explore a show from each of the seasons of CYT Baton Rouge and find all the good parts of the script, by reading between the lines.
