About CYT Classes - Where the fun begins!

Every session (Fall, Winter and Spring) CYT Baton Rouge offers 10-week theater arts classes to children & youth ages 5 – 18. These two hour after-school classes are held once a week. On the final week of classes, students will display a portion of what they've learned by participating in a SHOWCASE for family and friends.

Enrolled students, ages 8 – 18, have the opportunity to audition for a CYT Broadway-style musical!

Younger students may serve as ushers at CYT shows, and students ages 14 and up may work on a backstage crew.    NOTE: You must be enrolled in a CYT class in order to be eligible to audition for a show.

Hope Carline

After highschool I began teaching dance, primarly jazz and musical theatre, although I also taught ballet and tap for 11 years. This is when my love for musical theatre grew even more and I began choreographing and performing in musicals again which is what I have been doing for the last 2 years.

Jeff Elliott

Not only do I have a Master's Degree in Education, but I have also been a children's pastor, as well as, an elementary school teacher. The Lord called me to help shape young kids lives and I look forward to doing just that, at CYT!
