Description

Every great story is supported by artists who help bring it to life. In this course, students will explore the creative world behind the curtain, discovering how costumes, props, scenery, and lighting work together to transform a script into a fully realized production. As they learn the foundations of theatrical design, students will be encouraged to view creativity as a gift from God and an opportunity to serve others through excellence. Through hands-on projects and collaborative learning, students will study the principles of visual storytelling, including color, texture, composition, historical style, and atmosphere. They will develop design concepts, create inspiration boards, sketch ideas, and explore the basics of costume, prop, scenic, and lighting design while learning how each element supports the message of a production.
